She is here again.

Last night I saw her
On my white marble floor.
The last time she was here
Was three seasons ago
And back then I had seen her
Behind my brown teak door

The first time she was here
Was, I think, when I was 4
And I swear on
My brown teak door
Never had I ever
Seen someone like her before.

Every summer night,
Just when Grandma would start to snore,
She’d appear on the ceiling
And scare the hell out of my soul.
It is as if she knows
That I don’t want her here anymore.

Yet, she will come back again
And sit on my floor.
Autumn, winter and spring
Are the three seasons out of the four.

It’s almost summer and
She is here again.

Yes. The house gecko!

On my white marble floor.
Brown, dark and grisly!
Behind my brown teak door.
She is here again
To scare the hell out of my soul!

After summer,
She’ll be gone.
And come back again
After three seasons that are pretty long.

It is as if she knows
That I miss her behind my door
That I long to see her again

On my white marble floor.
