Silence

The silence,
Has been mocking at me again.
The voices, the thoughts,
They’ve lost their cane.
It’s been forever,
I’ve been waiting to be hit.
On the lips, with answers,
To questions, unnamed.
And so, when the time comes
I worry, it’ll be late.
For the cane will be sent,
To a very dark place.
Where thoughts will be a burden
And answers, a shame.
The silence will be eternal,
And life,
The same old ugly game.
